Using "Teasers" in Direct Mail Marketing

"Teasers" can be very effective in getting more people to open up the envelopes you send. A teaser is advertising copy (it can also include graphics) that is place on the outside of the envelopes you send. The negative to this is that if the teaser you create isn't good, it will probably end up lowering your response rates. A key would be to use a teaser that makes the information inside the direct mail envelope seem important to the reader, rather than just advertising "junk mail" content.
