The Complete Story in Direct Mail Marketing

You should never start your creative effort with a pre-conceived idea of how long your sales letter is going to be. It is usually harder to write a short letter than it is to write a long one. When you write short you struggle much more with decisions about what information should or should not end up making your final direct mail piece. Always write as much as you feel is needed to tell the complete sales story. Only then will you be able to edit reasonably once you have all the possible information in front of you. You shouldn't know how long your direct mail copy going to be until it's done
