Company Anonymity in Direct Mail Marketing

If you're mailing to prospects rather than inquirers or customers you shouldn't use your company name or logo. If you absolutely must (and there is little reason to suspect that you absolutely must) make sure that the use of this material assists your reader in making the decision to open up your envelope. If the reader is unaware of who you are, or worse was offended by some mail piece you did in the past, then putting your logo on the envelope of your direct mail may serve to turn them away from the proposition. Keep yourself anonymous unless it's the right opportunity.
