Address Correction Requested in Direct Mail Marketing If you place the words "address correction requested" immediately above your recipients address on your mailing piece, it will call attention to the fact that you consider the recipients name and address important. If they think that you fell they're important, than they will be more likely to read what's inside your direct mail and consider your offer. Allot of this advice is psychology on a sub-conscious level. There's no regulation as to where you can place these words, but it's been found most affective to place them above the address, even though the post office itself does not recommend this.
