What Types of Credit Cards to Offer

in Direct Mail Marketing

When offering charge privileges in your direct mail on a product over $10 (with the permission of the maker/dealer's product if you're not selling it independently) it is usually best to offer at least one of the major travel and entertainment cards, such as Diner's Club or American Express, along with at least one of the two major bank cards, like Mastercard or Visa. Almost all credit cardholders have on of these four, and therefore it will be most convenient for them. If you'd like to include more, then by all means, do it. But make sure you offer both types in your direct mail, because some people only carry one type.
